As math tutors at Memorial School, we are always looking for ways to support your children in math and to improve student learning. When students know their math facts with speed and accuracy, they are better able to focus on higher thinking skills in mathematics. The best way for children to learn their math facts is through practice. Flashcards are a great way to practice, but there are so many websites and simple games that can also be used to keep it interesting and fun.
Therefore, we have created this blog to share game ideas for your child to play at home to practice math fluency. We suggest that you have a special folder or shelf at home to store any printable games, flashcards or materials. Then your child will have an assortment of activities and games at their fingertips to help them improve their math fluency.
Research and experience shows that daily practice helps! We suggest a minimum of 10 minutes at least 5 times per week.
We hope you love the websites and games suggested here on our blog! Check back often for new ideas.
Have fun!
